    MoD logo More than one hundred Ministry of Defence Medical Centres needed to update their Primary Health Care Information System (PHC IS) within The Surgeon General's Department.

    The Challenge
    The primary aim of the project was to provide a "future proofed" common platform for MoD Medical Centres across the UK.

    The Solution
    Elonex's ProSentia 4000, ProSentia workstations, laser and dot matrix printers are being deployed throughout Ministry of Defence medical centres, carrying out not only traditional office applications, but more importantly electronic patient records and attendant facilities, such as appointments.

    This entails a Windows 2000 operating system running the most up to date version of the EMIS application software, LV2. To ensure new systems meet current and future needs, Elonex were chosen as they could offer systems that met these requirements.

    The Result
    Having good communications with Elonex, meant the best advice on future trends, when viewed DCSA logo against current and future requirements was provided. With technology advancing all the time, it was important that the hardware selected would support these aims for a number of years. This has been achieved. The hardware is being procured through Elonex's contract to supply hardware via The DCSA Catalogue.
